We serve residents in Somerville who are financially insecure through education, advocacy, and support.

The Community Action Agency of Somerville is an "emergency room" for every non-medical need an individual or family living in poverty may have: housing, food, heat, education. We also serve as a switchboard for referrals to other agencies that can help people and the center of coalitions that make a stronger Somerville community.

CAAS runs the Head Start program in Somerville and Cambridge. We assist families and individuals by working to keep them in their homes and prevent homelessness. We work with Somerville residents to obtain the help they need to escape poverty and become economically self-sufficient.
